I have him on my Yahoo fantasy team, and in his player notes yesterday was this little nugget:

May 1 SS Jeff Keppinger, a contact hitter deluxe, has swung and missed only 10 pitches this season in 113 at-bats.

That's absurd.

I posted this in another thread, yeah its amazing. Very early on in the season Patterson had a very low swing and miss count. That seems to have changed though.

He got it!

This stat combined with Kepps propensity to hit into double plays lately really makes me question why they don't hit and run more when Kepp is up to stay out of the double play.

Or bat him leadoff?

Or bat him leadoff?I like the idea, but there are too many people that love speed in that spot. I can't say that I don't like a fast man up there. A speedy runner getting on base to lead off really messes with a pitcher's concentration. Still, Keppinger gets on base so much that it's incredibly tempting.

I think speed at the leadoff spot is overrated. Look at Swisher for the ChiSox. He's not too swift of foot, yet he's scoring tons of runs by being on base when the big guns behind him drive the ball.

When it is all said and "DUNN", that is an awesome statistic.

Getting runners over is IMO our biggest flaw.

Wow, that is some serious contact. Crazy to think it only takes Dunn one game to accomplish that stat.

Kepp's Batting Average is Dropping just like Paul Bako's...

Kepp is slumping big time. The line drives and grounders up the middle have turned into Fly balls and grounders to short.

That said, he's still our best hitter.

He's probably pressing since many times he's the only one in the lineup who can actually hit. We got too many guys that look up to Rob Deer.
