Not the way he has been hitting lately. People may have been saying the same thing when Kendall got moved down - if Dunn gets going that's good - move him to cleanup but at the moment no one is really hitting consistently in the REDS lineup.

Adam Dunn hitting 7th is the crazy.

I think Baker is giving Votto too much credit against lefties. Votto didn't hit lefties well at AAA and I think his hot start this year against them is perhaps misleading. The number five slot in this lineup is for a lefty hitter and it should be Dunn, not Votto.

Sowers with a great AB to break up the perfect game with a walk.

Next time just give him nothing but changeups down the middle. He's not going to hurt you.

I don't think it's mostly emotional immaturity. Part of it might be. But 6 innings in the minors is a Sunday drive compared to 6 in the majors. This is the place where pitchers give you 11 pitch ABs. These are the big boys.

From Fay's blog today:

Here is the rule on Super 2s from Players Association website:

Q: When does a player become eligible for salary arbitration?
A: A player with three or more years of service, but less than six years, may file for salary arbitration. In addition, a player can be classified as a "Super Two" and be eligible for arbitration with less than three years of service. A player with at least two but less than three years of Major League service shall be eligible for salary arbitration if he has accumulated at least 86 days of service during the immediately preceding season and he ranks in the top 17 percent in total service in the class of Players who have at least two but less than three years of Major League service, however accumulated, but with at least 86 days of service accumulated during the immediately preceding season.

Because of the 17 percent clause, the date on Super 2s changes year-to-year.
