I'm watching the game on FSN, and Bill Bray came into the 8th after pitching Arroyo out of trouble in the 7th. A few pitches into the inning Bray threw a fastball at 96 for a ball, and then 93 for a strike.

I always knew bray could gas it a bit, but 96? Color me impressed. His breaking ball has looked pretty good these last few outings as well. Is it time to get Bray some more set-up work?

Don't trust the FSN gun. Bray does not throw 96.

I don't know but it had Arroyo at 89-90 and that about right for him so unless they turned it up for Bray I would say thats what he was throwing.

The FSN gun had Cueto at 91-94 the other night, while the Dodger's stadium gun and MLB Gameday had him at 94-98... who knows.

Also, sometimes a guy who normally throws 91-92 overthrows one at 96. It was a ball (way low) after all.

I've always been a fan of Bray, and if he continues to pitch solid outings, I'd love to see him take over that setup role from Fathertime Weathers.

You mean Joel Zumaya wasn't actually throwing 103 MPH a couple years ago?

Shocking.
