This is a fun and exciting lineup. I think Dusty done a pretty good job with this one. Griffey has been swinging the bat well and pitchers still seem to fear him. It will be interesting to see how they pitch to Bruce with Griffey behind him.

The consensus opinion around baseball is that Bruce will struggle because of his strikeout to walk ratio. He strikes out way too much and walks way too little.

In his case, I don't think it's going to matter as his career will be a constant battle of adjustments year after year as opponents try to figure out ways to stop this guy.

There should be plenty of peaks and valleys as he goes through the process.

Should be lots of fun to watch.

I don't think the consensus is that Bruce will struggle due to his high strike out rate. I think what he means to say is if he does struggle it will likely be due to his strike out to walk ratio. Rotoworld and other sites have brought this up.

Seconded, never heard of such a thing. Somehow the K/BB rate seems insignificant considering this guy was batting almost .370 in the minors and is the top prospect in baseball. Michael Jordan wasn't a 90% FT shooter either while we're pointing out completely insignificant things.

This Jay Bruce fellow he's not to bad. I really like the way he uses the opposite field. Good patience at the plate for being in his major league debut. Worked the count well. Hairston did a superb job tonite in the leadoff spot. Saw alot of pitches and got on base almost everytime he was up. He has been a good find.

I can't believe Dusty Baker allowed us to have back-to-back lefties in the lineup!?!?! What the heck?!?!?

Apparently batting Junior 3rd is a rule that is not superseded by batting Righties after Lefties.

Why can't Votto follow Dunn - so EE can continue to get protection?! I really can't believe they pitched to Dunn in the 5th with 2 outs and 2 on.

Okay, here's how I see it:

1 - CF or SS leads off
2 - SS or CF hits 2nd
3 - KGJ bats third
4 - Break up the Lefties (unless it violates rule 1, 2, or 3)
5 - DP/Out machine bats after slowest guy on the team
6 - Most Productive Hitter(s) bat 5th or lower

those seem to be the Dusty rules, as I've witnessed them thus far, there may be more...
