I can't believe some of these post. Come on. He's played 6 games, and you want to know if he's better than one of the games all time greats.

It's one thing to be really excited about how Bruce has hit since his call up, but to compare the first 6 big league games to the all around career of Ted Williams is a little much. Don't get me wrong, i love what Bruce has brought to the table and the energy spark his play has brought the team as a whole. Just don't compare the hot start of a rookie to a Hall of Famer 6 games into his career.

To be fair he did say "So far, so good!"

That might just mean Jay Bruce's first six games were better than Teddy Ballgame's first six games (and that's possible, I have no idea).

Could Jay Bruce be what the Bible is talking about? :D

I need to see Jay Bruce in a WW II-style dogfight to decide who's better overall.

I would say he is 1000 times better than Ted Williams, isn't Ted gone?

I know it's a video game, but I simulated years into the future with Jay Bruce, and he ends up hitting over 40 homers, and batting over .370 in 2017. Just sayin.:D

How dare anybody question the ability and powers of the "Bruce Almighty"!:D

I'm just going to enjoy watching him and Griffey in the same outfield. One a legend and the other quickly becoming one. Not many fans get to say that.

The mighty Bruce already has a shirt out for heaven's sake: http://sportscrack.com/tees_brucealmighty.html

He must be that good! Ted Williams never had one after one week in the Bigs.

In 10 years Bruce might have had the better career.

Williams was a great, talented hitter; but to be honest he got some overhype after his career was over

Can you explain to me how he was overhyped? He lost 4 and 3/4 seasons of his prime.

This is a link to baseball references Ted Williams page (http://www.baseball-reference.com/w/willite01.shtml) . Look at his Appearances on Leaderboards and Awards

Comparison by Age:

To say that Ted Williams was overhype is ridiculous.

Overhype? .480 OBP and .630 Slg. Lost 5 years in the middle of his career due to military service. Being conservative and giving him 25 HR/ season he's up in Willie Mays territory. He might possibly be the best hitter ever.

Even if he's not the best hitter ever, which is entirely possible, he's in the top three. In no way, shape, or form is Williams overrated.

Jay Bruce is by far a better hitter than Ted Williams ever dreamed to be.

No offense, but do you know anything about the history of Baseball? Many people consider Williams to be one of the top 5 Outfielders to ever play the game.

What kind of overhype did Ted get? That he was a .344 lifetime hitter, 1,839 RBI's, 521 HR's...and he lost many of his prime years while in the Military.

C'mon JB32, Bruce has had a good first couple of weeks...let's leave it at that.
