Nice inning by Harang.

Reds lineup just seems weak when one of the major hitters is out, like Griffey tonight. They are just good enough offensively and really can't afford to lose a major bat. Maybe if they had a better replacement off the bench.

Too bad, because on the pitching matchup they should win this game handily. Maybe they'll pull it out anyway.

Maybe EE can get things going.

Cyclone792
06-03-2008, 07:40 PM
Harang is getting some of those low corners for strikes tonight. The Reds need to get some runs for him early; if Harang can keep locating on those corners then I've got a feeling he can turn in a pretty nice night.

I hate sending the runner on 3-2 because the batter thinks he has to swing at the pitch no matter where it's at to protect the runner. It happens all the time to not just the Reds but nearly every team. The batter always winds up swinging at ball four instead of taking the walk, and that's what Bruce did there.

Is Norris Hopper's elbow feeling better now that there could be a spot on the 25-man roster??
I would say there is just about no shot of that happening. He hasn't been on rehab, and last time I heard he couldn't make long throws.

Howard looked overmatched.

I don't get as frustrated as most here, but you can blame Dusty for leaving Harang in too long. He's coming off a bad outing, his pitching was vulnerable in the previous inning and he was well over the 100 pitch mark. It's stupid.
