Welcome back Corey Patterson, #23 in your programs, but number 986 in your hearts.

Griffey sits again, no real shocker there if he is nicked up as reported.

I figured since I'm 6-1 in starting Game Threads, I should help end the mini-losing streak. If it fails, I blame Chip.

Going to be a slight delay but it looks like they will start soon. Hopefully they don't have to keep starting and stopping which would ruin a Volquez start. It still looks like there is rain in the area.

Will we split this series as we did last time?

No.

Last time Corey was at least disguised as a ML hitter and the pitching was good. And the Phils weren't red hot. When we had the 1-2 punch of Hairston and Bruce at the top of the order, a Griff swinging the bat better in the 3 hole and Dunn warming up, good things happened. Now we have Patterson in the 2-hole where he will probably go 0-4 and with Phillips batting behind Bruce, he'll get nothing to hit (just like Griffey). So I say no. It will be ugly. I hate that.

It really is. I have to say that the only way hitters can have any measure of success against 2008 Volquez, is if they are 100% guessing on what pitch he's throwing, and where he's throwing it.
