Is Arroyo the next Milton?

Man, he's heading towards that yearly 6 ERA stat, and we've got him signed another two years at about 10 mil a pop. If Bailey turns out to progress to a big league starter, and Darryl Thompson continues to tear up the minors, maybe they should consider putting this guy in the pen.

No. Arroyo pitches with heart and will never step down from competition. Milton coulda cared less once he had his paycheck. And by the way...didnt arroyo just have a pretty rediculous May.

Arroyo is far from Milton. Milty used to give up gopher balls on a regular basis. Atleast bronson keeps it in the yard most games. Arroyo has alot of movement on all his pitches. So if he's off just a tad it's going to look like he's having a bad night. Milton had no movement on any of his pitches. He also had major knee problems and arroyo has been healthy since coming to cincy.

Like the other guys have said, Arroyo is a warrior on the mound. I'll never ever compare him to Milton. But I can see him without a rotation spot if Homer holds up and Thompson has a great spring next season.

The biggest difference between Arroyo and Milton is that Arroyo has given the Reds one very good year, and one decent year already, both with undervalued contracts. This year he is only one game under .500 and still has a very affordable contract. Basically the two big salary years he has coming up are a reward for working for cheap the first three years.

Milton was never healthy or good, and was paid way overpaid every year he was in a Reds uniform.

Your wrong MIlton never advoided the press and never made excuses. The guy was terrible and he admitted as much, plus he was injured pretty much the entire time he was here. The guy was awful on the mound but had heart and tried his best.

Milton may have not made excuses and may have not avoided the press, but Arroyo would take the ball every day if asked too. If Bronson gets roughed up, he wants to be back out there 3 days later to pitch again. Even if Bronson doesnt have his best stuff on a day he is going to go after and attack every hitter. I never saw that fire from Milton.

Arroyo needs to stay in the rotation, he'll get his groove back. Besides, who can we put in his place? Arroyo is no Milton, Fogg, Belisle, etc
