I think Dusty's doing this to shut up the critics. If batting Votto leadoff doesn't work, he can say that he tried it their way and it didn't work so speed goes back at the top of the lineup.

RedlegJake
06-18-2008, 07:21 PM
And Loney bounces out for the last out. Another freebie inning. Announcers are saying that Arroyo threw a curve in the dirt when it looked like Ross was setup for a fastball. Bad communication.

I just find myself stunned at how badly Baker has mismanaged Patterson. The only way he helps, and this isn't necessarily an insignficant way, is as a late-inning glove and pinch-runner. That's pretty much it.

To inflict Patterson like Baker has on Reds-dom is simply cruel. No one in control of their faculties would use Patterson as much (or in the manner) that Baker has. Having Baker do that really hampers a GM, because Baker cannot apparently be trusted to be sane. You can't give him flawed toys because he will use excessively and incorrectly the flawed toys. It is mind-boggling.

At least CP is batting 7th tonight, but I don't know that I have ever been aware of a team that has run out guys so OBP horrible at the top of their line-up on a consistent basis as this team has this year.

I've noticed the game threads are about 1/2 of the size they were a month ago and the amount of posters posting has diminished as well.

Is this because the Reds have sucked as of late? Or is it just random luck?

The Reds are all kinds of awful right now, what's to be said in the game thread that hasn't already been stated? ;)

These guys stink.

So much for my theory that the Reds are doing better since I've switched to day shift...;)
