Bruce flied out on the first pitch. Cabrera bunt single but Griff flies out to RF and Cabrera went too far and got doubled off first.

I would have started Janish today considering he's the best defensive SS on the team and Volquez is a groundball pitcher.

Yea, I don't get the 1st pitch swing on a low breaking ball. No reason for anyone to get themselves out on a first pitch that's a pitcher's pitch. I'm worried.

And it was a pretty bad throw too. Nice job by Cabrera to pick it and still get the tag in on time.

Just identifying what good defense brings to a team. Our normal RF would not have gotten that ball and the run would have scored.

Absolutely, he's lost range, but why must we constantly mention that lost range whenever anyone makes a play that we don't think he can make (key word here is "think")?

When ti happens over and over it becomes bashing.

Somehow Volquez couldn't catch that grounder. If he catches that ball then the runner would have been out at home easily. I think the broken bat fooled him because that ball was very catchable.

Many folk are like that with Jeter.. He is very likeable, but also immensely over-rated... did you guys see the poll results today??? Jeter recieved 10% of the votes from all of MLB players about the most over-rated player...

That was a filthy pitch to K A-Rod. He started the fastball at the knees on the inside corner and it ended up ankle height and about a foot inside. Just nasty movement on that pitch.

Nah..on that hit it fooled him. It was a line shot that looked to be straight at Damon. It hooked down suddenly fooling Damon AND Edwin who was figuring 'out'. Yeah he should be running everything out but then you have to rip about 700 other players who do that, too, on the same kind of hit.
