Not that the Reds and Arroyo are giving us much positive to talk about.

This is an element I've missed sorely with the Reds....the ability to come out of the gates with multiple runs in the 1st inning. They have to be near the bottom of 1st inning runs this year in the majors. Hope to be proven wrong.

Dusty is simply awesome. Let's just see how many runs Arroyo can give up in the 1st.

You realize that Dusty has to watch out for the careers of 11 other pitchers, don't you?

This isn't the playoffs; he can't drive this already mediocre bullpen into the ground.

This team needs starters; Arroyo has been officially scratched off the list of options.

RedlegJake

Waht would a game thread be without a ...blame Dusty for no reason that has any reason at all.

Too bad Clay Kirby or Santo Alcala is not in the bullpen for long relief.

Reminds me of that game in SD in 1969 when i gave up about the same amount of runs....against an expansion team!

Yeah very comparable to the Bengals signing Anderson and Levi at the same time...why if you don't have to? Sign one or the other.

I'm so tired of the "feel good" crap from both of our bad franchises, and the local media eats it up like lap dogs and poop it out to the masses.

Do what it takes to win consistently, by not being afraid to make tough decisions and risk some fall out with the joe six pack talk show fans temporarily.

So, at least with the Reds they "have" a GM, and turnover their FO staff - so there's at least some hope there. Just spare me the promotions and focus on individual players, and take some pride in your organization, hope Bob means business.

Stanley's older brother Louis was best friends with Rickey Henderson, that's how Finley met Stanley. He liked the kid and made him his personal assistant. Javy Valentin is playing third base again. I really hope he botches several balls so we never have to witness this again.

This game is a lost cause. No sense in risking Keppinger's still-less-than-100% knee, and since Encarnacion's back is still bothering him, why not go with Valentin?

And I would still bring David Ross in to pitch in the eighth.

Weathers missing the plate. Behind 2-0 to Wilkerson. Now 3-0 on a pitch about 7 foot high. Now 3-1. Wilkerson hits it up the middle, Paul dives, flips to BP and on to first just missing the DP. Saved a hit there. Nice play.

It's better than Keppinger reinjuring his knee, and EdE is unavailable.

When all is lost, you put the Latin Love Machine at 3B

And Dave Ross in to pitch!

I just had a serious "Twilight Zone" moment! :D

I know this game is a lost cause, which is why I want to see Valentin botch some balls. That way we never have to see him in a game at third base ever again.

Weathers tired of them hitting him so he turns it around. O'Bay up. 3-3 with a walk so far. 2-0 now to Lyle. 2 fouls, both of them on balls. Evidently Lyle doesn't wanna walk. And he fans.

I wonder why Zaun lives in downtown Cincinnati during the offseason? GG mentioned he came to the Reds looking for a job a year or two ago, and they turned him down.

According to some posters here in RedsZone, Zaun has a less-than-stellar reputation in the clubhouse.

So does Phil Raisor. But that doesn't stop him from being a hit with the ladies.

(might as well SERP up this game thread)

Hopper Ks. 4 hits for the Reds. Twenty Freakin One for the Jays. And they still have 2 more innings to hit.

Looks like Sunday isn't the only time Hell will freeze over with The Dusty at the helm.

Part of me gets excited for crazy defensive positioning like this.

The other part of me realizes that The Dusty is continuing the trend of the Reds being the butt of many jokes in MLB.

Most hits allowed since June 9, 2004 when the Oakland A's got 22 hits.

4th time since the 2003 season that the REDS allowed 20 or more hits in a game...
(1) 22 hits. 6-9-2004 @ Oakland
(2) 21 hits. 6-25-2005 @ Cleveland
(3) 20 hits. 8-17-2007 @ Cubs
(4) 22 hits. 6-24-2008 @ Toronto

Interleague road games are not friendly. Neither are the Cubs. Neither are the REDS pitchers...
