Why does Keppinger sit today? Him, Hairston, and Phillips should always pkay vs. lefties.

This is what Dusty said about it from Trent. Sounds like it is going to be a rotating lineup for awhile:

Jeff Keppinger gets the day off, Hairston starting at short.

"It's not a matter of rest as much as I went from not enough shrotstops to a lot of shortstops," Baker said. "I had a meeting with him and Jerry (Hairston) today and told them I'm going to try to find a way to play everybody, but not have anybody out more than a couple of days. We'd like to have him and Jerry both in there, we've probably got nine or 10 guys you'd play every day where before we were scuffling."

Do you sit Junior again? Even after the walk-off? Do you sit Dunn? Do you sit EE? Do you sit Bruce? I'd rather Keppinger than Hairston, in a vacuum, but Hairston is "hot" and Keppinger is nursing a knee injury.

Bruce should probably be the odd man out on merit, but you won't see me complaining about the lineup tonight. More right than wrong.

No doubt.

Having someone whispering "be really agressive at the plate" in his ear can't help.

I just hope Dusty/Jacoby et al haven't tried to "improve" his approach at the plate. Dunner has had nothing but "just do this" over the years, no need to "improve" Bruce either.

Umps can be as bad as possible and it doesn't excuse the incredibly bad play of this team tonight - their calls should be an aggravation in a game the Reds should be winning or tied right now, even with the bad calls. I could care less how bad the umps are - this team is playing horribly - and I disagree with those who say there isn't enough talent. They DO have talent and that's the only reason they are even close in some of these games. They are playing lousy ball in spite of their talent. Stupid ball.
