I was in chat a couple nights ago and discovered that I was a bit younger than the average guy in the chat...like 30 years younger

Albiet chat is a small sample size of Redszone, it got me thinking what is the average age of Redszoners?

My baseball glove is more than twice that (a lefty Franklin Bobby Shantz model -- name long since disappeared -- circa 1964).

My average age is 23. Unfortunately, most people don't figure age like that, and by the traditional way of counting I'm 46.

Was this site around about 12 years ago? I remember getting banned from a Cincinnati Reds forum when I was 12 or 13 years old, but I don't remember which one it was.

No, it was founded in April 2000.

I just went through and cut/pasted the user profiles for 20 pages of profiles with an age listed.

The average age of the 1000+ members is 33.1. Median is 31. Mode is 27. Standard Deviation is 10.3. The distribution is right skewed.

It's the same for active members (has posted this year), so there's no inactive user inflation going on.

I had guessed 32 -- I'm good.

As of yesterday, I'm 67.

I'm old enough to remember when the Reds were really, really bad and then they were pretty good then really good then kinda blah then really, really good, then terrible then good again then, for the last decade or so...well. we all know that story.
