Reds are now all by themselves at second in the NL in caught stealings with 29. Houston leads the league in caught stealings with 30; of course, Houston also has 21 more stolen bases than the Reds.

The Reds have a stolen base percentage of only 67.4 percent. We thank Dusty for his implementation of Dusty Ball.

Not typical, I'd say. Extreme.

I don't think that's fair. Bruce hasn't had much time to adjust. His confidence is obviously affected and he seems tentative up there, particularly with two strikes.

My expectation is that Bruce will get hot, probably at home, and will start to do well.

Remember how Cueto was all fouled up earlier in the season? Now he looks very comfortable out there and is pitching great. Bruce will get there with his hitting.

What was Cueto's final pitch count?

I can see leaving Ceuto in there after the Dunn goof. Cueto has trouble controlling his emotions when things go bad. It was a good test of character to leave Cueto out there to see if he could get past that goof. Sure, he got a few more runs tacked onto his ERA because of that, but hopefully after the game Pole or Dusty can sit down with him and use that as a case in point for why you have to keep your cool when the defense lets you down.

In other words, I see it as a learning opportunity for Ceuto. This is the year for him to learn to pitch through defensive lapses.
