If you can get something significant, great.

I'd rather see Ross get back his starting position, and get 80% of the starts from here on out.

He worked his tail off this winter, only to get side tracked with an injury in spring training, and then to the end of the bench while the Paul Bako and his sub-500 ops over the last two months were overlooked because of his 900 ops over the first few ab's of the year. Bako is still getting treated like Geovany Soto by the Duster.

Ross' k rate is down quite a bit, his bb rate is up quite a bit. I really think the train wreck of the first part of 2007 was corrected at the plate by Ross over the winter.

"If you don't have a catcher, you have a lot of passed balls."

-- Casey Stengel

I thought it was "all passed balls" but you're probably right. Said when he drafted Hobie Landreth as the Mets first selection in the player draft.

Bottom of the ninth at Wrigley. Hope Cordero can hold a five run lead. I could use a win.

I don't have a real issue with this one, OBM. Wind blowing out, five runs is not that large a lead, and I would sure hate to see a few get on and then go to Cordero at that point.

Plus, the team is three days away from a three day break. Cordero would be my call here.

He is doing exactly that. Cordero hasn't pitched since Sunday. If he wants him to be sharp this weekend series, he needs to use him. You can't let relievers sit around too long or it shows in their pitching.

And, of course, with the ASB next week, it's unlikely he'll have to use up Cordero. There's a built in three day holiday coming up. Except for Volquez, that is.

Plus, with Parra vs. Fogg and CC vs. TBA, it's unlikely we'll need Cordero anyways

With Monday's off day, he hasn't pitched in 3 days....I can see his thinking quite clearly

4 innings of 2 hit/0 earned run/ 4k baseball for the bullpen. It really does get boring after awhile.

That was an awesome game to be it. There were a lot of fans in attendance, and when Bruce pinch hit you could clearly hear the "Bruuuuuuuuuuuuuce" chants.
