Can we just trade for this guy already so we don't have to face him year in and year out. He will at least give us 3 wins a year by not being on the Brewers, maybe he can make a serviceable outfielder for us too, maybe pop 25-30 hr's play decent D and add a little speed. I half serious and half not.

I would have walked Hall in today's game. But then again, I would walk Hall with the bases loaded. Seriously. I doubt the Dusty and Speier understand how much of a Reds killer Hall is.

It's not that he's a Red killer, he's just a lefty killer.

Hall has a 1.104 OPS vs. lefties. He's only .524 vs. righties, though, which is why they platoon him with Branyon, who's at 1.115 vs. righties.

Imagine that...combined them and you have a player with an OPS over 1.100...total salary - around $5.5 million. And does anybody pay attention? Do you hear about that on sportscenter?

For some reason people in baseball just don't get the value of platoons.

He's both. Numbers don't do it justice. He comes through in big at bats against the Reds nearly everytime.

Hall is a total Reds killer. I put him right up there with Lance Berkman, Jim Edmonds, and Mark DeRosa (or Theriot, whichever of them who always seems to get a hit against us) as one of the "Reds Killers" that I always rant about when I watch a game, LOL

I thought we would have made a push for him by now. He'd look nice in a Reds uniform.

Would be nice to have him and Phillips in the lineup against lefties.

A Dorn/Hall platoon in left field sounds pretty damn good next year.

Platoons can be a very good thing. However, sometimes they're abused and overused at the expense of common sense. Sometimes managers take the bat out of the hand of a player that's hot and against a certain pitcher, might hold his own despite the lefty-lefty or righty-right match-up.

Over the long haul, I certainly believe you'll do well to have a platoon with two guys from opposite sides of the plate that both hit the opposite hand as well as Hall & Branyan. I just think sometimes it's abused.
