From a player standpoint (excluding order) - this is my ideal Reds lineup. I really do think Ross earned the starting job last year and would love to see him get more at bats now that hes healthy. He has pop in his bat and prides himself as a defensive catcher as well. Will somebody tell me why Votto is batting 7th still? Behind Edwin?!

I think my ideal player lineup would be:
C Ross
1B Votto
2B Phillips
3B Edwin
SS Kepp
LF Dunn
CF Hairston
RF Bruce

Complete oversight on my part - im only a rookie. Let me eat my words and try again.

C Ross
1b Votto
2b Phillips
3b Kepp
SS Hairston
LF Dunn
CF Bruce
RF Griffey
SP Volquez

Hairston has argueably been on our MVP from a non pitchers standpoint.

Because he's the only Lefty who can actually Hit Righties - so we want to give Santana the easy outs versus KGJ and Dunn so Votto can "sneak up on him"...

Dusty Lineups - for heavens sakes don't try to figure them out!!

What? No Corey Patterson? I heard he's fast.

CTrent said Hairston didn't take infield practice, and that Jolbert Cabrera did. He thinks Hairston goes on the DL and Jolbert takes his place.

Jolbert played well while he was here, so hopefully he can pick up for Hairston. Don't understand Bruce at leadoff against Santana, but its much better than CPatt. As far as the lefties, Johan isn't particularly tough on lefties, his best pitch is his changeup that tails away from righties. He doesn't have the sweeping slurve like Sabathia that is nearly unhittable if your a lefty. I won't be surprised if Grif and Dunn have some good ab's against him.

My ideal lineup?

C- Bench
1B- Perez
2B- Morgan
3B- Rose
SS- Concepcion
LF- Foster
CF- Geronimo
RF- Griffey

Those guys probably wouldn't be very good at this point, however.

I absolutely despise Bruce leading off. A leadoff hitter that we can plug into that spot every day has to be at or near the top of the list for this off-season (or this trade season).

BRM lineup
1. Geronimo (fast centerfielders always lead off, dude)
2. Concepcion (shortstops always bat second, dude)
3. Griffey (out of respect, the rightfielder Griffey always bats third)
4. Morgan (2nd baseman bats cleanup here too, dude)
5. Foster (he's strong and if he don't get a lot of RBIs batting 5th, there ain't a cow in Texas, dude)
6. Rose (I like batting my high OBP 3rd basemen in the 6th spot, dude)
7. Perez (I like batting my high OBP 1st baseman in the 7th spot, dude)
8. Bench (catchers bat eighth, dude)

Very well stated. I dont think even Duhhsty Baker could screw up a lineup consisting of the BRM like that.

Only Dusty Baker would bat the MLB hits leader 6th, and the Reds RBI leader 7th...

.....and one of the team's worst hitters 3rd.

You pay $100 to take your kids to a game, you should be getting a full effort from the Manager to win the game, not a full effort by the Manager to stroke the primadonna ego of Ken Griffey, Jr.

It will all be over in 3 months and then Dusty can do what he wants to do next year with no Junior around to screw things up (and Patterson around to screw things up, too.)

Because Votto doesn't handle the heat as well as EE. According to Dusty anyway.
