Gang, I am bringing the family to GABP for the first time this coming weekend, and I have absolutely no idea now which jerseys to allow the kids to buy. Griff and Dunn were no brainers, but obviously that's no going to happen now. Jordan's (My Son) Pokey Reese had a shelf life of 4 months before he was gone, so what are your recommendations as to who will be a red next year. And yes, the tickets were bought in April, and we still have Kings Island, the aquarium, the zoo, and the Kentucky Horse Park to look forward to, not to mention minor league talent at major league prices; yikes:eek:

can't go wrong with a Bruce. I am by no means a jersey kind of guy though.

I'd buy a jersey anywhere but the stadium. A replica jersey runs roughly $85 most websites or stores. At one of the stadium stores it's gonna run ya $150.

A weekend in Cincy is still a fun time, and evening at the ballpark is still a unique experience esp. for the kids.

Jay Bruce is absolutely your best bet for a Jersey as schmidty said. Volquez would be my second choice.

Johnny Bench, Pete Rose, Joe Morgan, Davey Concepcion, Cesar Geronimo, Tony Perez, etc.

No chance of being heartbroken. These guys will all have great careers in Cincinnati. I guarantee it.

I'd get Bruce or a retired alum (Larkin, Bench, Rose)

Easy answer here. Bruce.

I bought my Bruce authentic weeks ago and glad I went with him instead of my favorite red of all time, Dunn.

I am at the point i would buy a generic Reds uni instead of a players jersey-no player ties. That way you never run into the player being traded. I have tons of jerseys of players no longer with the team, wont do that again (Hamilton anyone?). Unless a player is retired I doubt I buy a player jersey again. I like the idea mentioned of getting an alumni Reds jersey-shows your allegiance just as well.

Tim Birtsas is always an excellent choice.

Failing that, grab a Junior Kennedy or Dave Collins authentic.
