Nice first for Aaron. Not overwelming velocity(Gameday shows 89-91 fastball), but his control looks good. He was keeping the ball off the heart of the plate.

And of course the missed strike three call leads to a walk. The same exact pitch was called a strike before that. MLB umpires seem to be getting worse each year.

I don't know that they rushed him. I think he has serious problems. He's been giving up the long ball a lot this year and two walks this inning are unusual.

Pitching is fickle. One minute you are the ace and the next the goat. I fear this is what we are seeing here and I certainly hope I'm wrong.

I really don't think Dusty or any other coach caused this. Injuries happen. Sometimes it's as simple as someone twisting your foot in celebration (Vern Law) or making an ackward step on a sidewalk. For whatever reason, Harang does have some problem that he's not telling about or can't be determined. FWIW, he was grimicing when pitching that inning. That's not good.

Don't you know anything? If a pitcher pitches poorly, it is Dusty's fault. No questions asked. Just like Arroyo's career was over because of the '07 SD 120 pitch game. Until he started to pitch better.

I'm not a fan of Dusty's by any means, but you're barking up the wrong tree tonight. If Aaron can't get out the likes of Molina and Schumaker, then he shouldn't be pitching. He needs to tell someone that he's hurt or that something doesn't feel right.

Which gun? Brantley on radio says he's topping out at 88 most of the time. If it's the gun on TV, it's been wrong all year.

I hope it's wrong because if he is in at 91-93 and still getting killed, he really does have a serious problem.

I can't believe that it was Dusty who made the judgment to reinstate Harang. My guess is that it was the doctors and the GM who had the most say. With Harang's contract, I'm sure Walt didn't leave this decision to the manager.

These look like rehab starts, Harang obviously isn't pitching well enought to win at the major league level. Somebody misjudged his readiness.

And on that day my career in the disaster relief business started.

Makes it easy to remember with Elvis croaking and all.I was at Myrtle Beach on the fateful day. Single and having a great time. My two buddies and I had just made dates with 3 young ladies from Concord, NC for the night to go club hopping. The news of Elvis' death caused them to be so bummed that they cancelled, we went to see that new movie "Star Wars" and the rest is history.

BTW, the Reds beat San Diego that night 5-1, with Tom Seaver pitching a 5-hit complete game to go to 13-5. The only run scored against him was unearned on an error by, of all people, Johnny Bench.

I'd have never remembered all of this is wasn't for the demise of the King.

why is maj still on this team?

Just because.

Of the entire bullpen, Majewski is the one pitcher who I cannot figure out what anyone sees in him. Sinkerball pitcher, for sure, but he gets hit hard and gives up the long ball.

Now, Maj wants to help out in the infield and screws up a ground ball out. Oh boy.

Has anybody considered the possibility that its a lack of confidence? Its not like he's had a hot streak or anything this season. He's been pretty hittable ALL season. Before AND after that SD game (so don't point to that). And I refuse to believe it's Dusty either. He's just struggled. After getting snakebit in several game at the start of the season it starts to get into your psyche...I think it's all mental right now. Only thing to do is to work through it. If it was an injury...he wouldn't be back. I don't think either Harang, Dusty or the trainers are that stupid.
