View Full Version : Reds vs. Dbacks - Predict Dunn's Performance

The Reds play the Dbacks for a 3 game series starting Friday. Here are the starters for each game:

Game 1 Friday September 12 Johnny Cueto vs. Brandon Webb
Game 2 Saturday September 13 Edinson Volquez vs. Randy Johnson
Game 3 Sunday September 14 Aaron Harang vs. Max Scherzer

I know we all hate the Adam Dunn SUCKS/Adam Dunn ROCKS threads. So simply looking at him going against 3 RHP from his old team, what do you realistically expect from our pitchers and from Dunn.

I think he'll homer and double and single and walk about 4 times with 4 K's in the series. maybe 2 RBI.

Anyone get word on why he took #32 after all those years of 44?

I think he'll either strikeout, walk or hit a home run. ;)

Where is Bleeds prediction? ;)

I could care less.

I'm more worried about the off-season than anything else.
That, and the fact that I still have to deal with people thinking this team is better and winning and bound for contention, all the while we're still about the 3rd worst team in all of baseball, and it has no bearing in anyone's mind.

Seriously. The bickering between the two of you on EVERY thread is annoying.

As for my opinion on the topic of this thread, I think the Reds pitchers will have some success against him. He knows them, but they know him too. It'll be interesting to see what happens. I'm willing to say he'll have a few walks, but as far as home runs and K's are concerned, it's hard to say.

I chimed in...which you probably would have seen if you read my entire post. But it seems that every time you see the mention of your name or someone slightly disagrees with you, you attack them and call them names, which takes up thread space and makes it annoying to have to sift through the crap to find anything with value.

Sorry to everyone else reading this thread, I don't mean to detract, but I don't have time to post a lot, and I generally peruse this site to get info, and this has been bothering me.

Thank you for letting me get this off my chest.

Actually, I'm with BLEEDS. I really don't care how Dunn does. He is no longer a Red.

I care how my home boys do.

Well then, you can easily switch the question to "How do you think the Cueto, Volquez, and Harang will do against Dunn."

Personally I think Dunn does the following:

Friday vs. Cueto - 1-3, 1 HR, 1 RBI, 1 K, 1BB
Saturday vs. Volquez - 0-2, 1K, 2BB
Sunday vs. Harang - 1-4 (2B), 1 RBI, 2K
So for the series he will be 2-9 1 HR, 1 2B, 2 RBI, 4 K, 3 BB
Which will give him a horrible BA, a Great OBP, and a great slugging %.
Pretty typical performance for the big guy.

Bleeds,

I agree with you on Dunn. I don't care how he does, I just want us to get better and win the series.

I do disagree with you that we are the 3rd worst team in baseball. We are actually the 9th worst team in baseball, according to W-L record (Right now, and I know that could change before the end of the season, so you could eventually be right).

So here is how Dunn did for the series:
AB 9, H 1, R 0, RBI 2, BB 4, SO 2, LOB 10
BA .111, OBP .385, SLG .111.

While he did get on base at a reasonable clip, he didn't score any runs.

He did have 2 RBI's that put his team ahead in the late innings including a game-winning RBI.

You missed the GIDP stat. Two that I know of, and during key rallies.

Those were fun.
