They say the BoSox 2007 payroll was at $143 million, 2008 was $133 million and next year's projects to be, after arbitration, around $100 million.......meaning the BoSox have money to spend.

Not a good year to be battling the Yanks and Red Sox for the top free agents. Don't look for the Reds to be getting CC, Lowe, Texeira, or in on the Holiday sweepstakes.

With several holes that need patching, the Reds can't tie up too much money on any one player.

I think it's funny in that article where they talk about the BoSox getting into a bidding war, just to up the price on Texeira. Funny stuff. Anything to make the Yankees overpay.
