This is not a big deal.The Reds along with all other teams do this.Giving a guy like this a chance is a common and low risk thing all teams do every spring.He'll have a hard time making the team if there are no injuries.

Fultz has been released by 3 different teams in the last year(Indians,Rockies and Tigers)

I don't think anyone thinks it's a big deal. It's still worth acknowledging though IMO.

Minor League deal. No biggie. If the Reds catch lightening in a bottle then it's a good thing, if not, he doesn't make the club and no harm is done. It just goes to show you. If you are lefthanded, you can still get a shot to pitch.
