I think the Bengals have to sign Rod Hood. The Bengals only have two good CB's and one of them is hurt all the time. Depth is desperately needed at this position.

From the Bengals section at cincinnati.com:
And the wheeling and dealing isn't done
Posted by JoeReedy at 5/7/2009 1:14 PM EDT on Cincinnati.com
Hello Brian Leonard.
The Bengals have made a trade with St. Louis, sending DT Orien Harris to the Rams in exchange for the third-year running back.
Leonard started in seven games as a rookie in 2007 and finished with 303 yards on 86 carries. His best game came on Oct. 7, 2007, against Arizona when he had 102 yards on 18 carries. He was limited by injuries last year, playing in only two games with seven yards on two carries.
Harris was acquired on waivers before the start of the season last year and saw action in 14 games with 24 tackles. The Rams will mark his sixth team in four seasons.

Like this move as we didn't give up anything of consequence to get him. Looks like Kenny Watson is on his way out as Leonard most likely will get the third down responsibilities.

Wow, I absolutely love that deal. Leonard is a bruiser, basically he is a fullback who can run a little bit and catches the ball well. Sort of a poor mans Jerome Bettis, just not quite as fast or quick with his feet. Should tell us now with actions what they have said with their actions, pound the rock, stop the run hold the pass down fairly well and then throw it over your head.
I'm actually excited about the Bengals.
I'm amazed at how this organization has been run the past couple months.

Yeah I don't want to wish the summer away, but I'm pretty psyched about football season this year. Definitely the most since 2006, when they were coming off the playoff appearance. It's been such a strange offseason you have to wonder if something's changed ... maybe Mike Brown has given more responsibility to Marvin Lewis or something.

I hope he's not the next Gary Russell (thought at least we gave up nothing of consequence for him, so why not take the chance?)

I don't mind drinking the kool aid because I think the Bengals finally have a plan that they are executing this off season. For the last 20 yrs or so we have been told things would be different only to find out its the same old Bungles at the end of the season. This year feels different because the team actually has a plan of action in the offseason. They were aggressive instead of waiting for things to shake out, I like this team.

sounds like Mikey Boy knew what he was doing with Levi, word is the leg wound isnt healing properly
Per Rotoworld via Arizona Republic w/ Rotoworld comments:
The player rep for free agent OT Levi Jones admitted Monday that his client may have to wait for the summer to sign with a team.
Jones is recovering from extensive leg surgery and probably couldn't pass physicals. The Cardinals and Redskins have already denied any interest

Probably the hard knocks thing that we already knew about. Is it me or does the Bengals entire offseason seem to be a proactive way to ensure ticket sales for the season? I mean the only thing that could even be construed as a bad thing is losing TJ or keeping Chad and they weren't really in control of the former.
Perhaps they have dealt Chad to the Cards for Anquan Boldin, that would work as well I suppose.

I'm not one of them but given the amount of money he signed for and our lack of depth at OL, some see losing Stacy Andrews as a bad thing.

Predict what Chad will say to Hard Knock camera's
I cant wait for Chadetta to show up to camp, he'll probably come walking in right with the HBO crew. I can see him walking backwards right in front of HBO as they come thru Georgetown's gates. What kinda of smack will spew from this idiot to get our opponents riled up? Typical Chad quote will be, "Im back yall, you cant check me!" His writers are hard at work prepping him for new original catchy T.O. punchline one liners. Im sick already thinking about this, there wont be a tent big enough for this circus.

Actually I think this is the best off season the Bengals have had since the Palmer draft year. IMO they have acted like a good front office with their moves. The only move/non-move that I could complain about is the whole CJ decision. But I think the market was significantly lower than anyone could have predicted and a healthy CJ would be a better return than a draft pick the Bengals could have gotten.
Good front offices let TJ walk this off season. You don't give a multi year deal to a position WR who has lost a step and is entering his early to mid 30's. He has also proven over the last two years that he is starting to become a WR diva. Then they go out and get a similar replacement for significantly less money. It was actually a very smart decision except in the mind of the TJ fans.

It's not a penalty unless they call it.
I really, really, really hope that Andre Smith works out. (Hahaha, just thought to myself, this has two meanings... I originally meant that I hope he is a productive tackle for the Bengals for many years and not a bust, but I guess you could take it another way as well... :D )

I think that is the general thought behind the holding call. If you keep your hands inside the official isn't going to call a penalty. If you move your hands outside it is more obvious and a flag is likely to come flying.

Cowboys cut Ellis per rotoworld
http://www.rotoworld.com/content/HeadLines.aspx?sport=NFL&hl=144552
Cowboys released OLB/DE Greg Ellis.
The anticipated move clears $5.6 million in cap room, likely setting up Dallas to strike a long-term accord with contract-year OLB DeMarcus Ware. Ellis is 34, but showed that he can still play by posting eight sacks last season. He'd be best utilized as a rotational end in a 4-3 defense. The Bengals, Rams, Jaguars, and Redskins would all be smart to give him a look.
