Thom B glowing about Bailey's approach. I still think ideally he starts the year in AAA and dominates, with a mid-season call-up.

Bailey works around a pair of singles, stranding two.

0-0 after two.

Thom B says Bailey is doing a nice job at working ahead of the hitters.

Can't say it enough....HE'S ONLY 22, but it feels like he's been around forever.

Getting drafted out of high school at age 18 will do that.

Reds go scrappy for a 1-0 lead. Walk to Hopper, moves to second on a hit and run ground out by Kepp, Hopper takes third on a ball in the dirt, Bruce ground out gets him home.

Thom B happy.

Another single, and then a line drive to Kepp turned into a DP.

1-1 after three.

Apparantely Bailey just threw a breaking ball that started at the chest, and went to the knees, and then blows the hitter away with a heater...

Another solid outing from Homer today. He wasn't as dominant today as he was his first two appearances but he was solid overall.

4 IP, 6 H, 1 R, 0 BB, 1 K

Five of the hits were singles.

The thing that jumps out the most is still the lack of walks. If he can put the ball in the strikezone often, the strikeouts are going to come.

The single by Hopper puts runners at first and third with no one out. Kepp up. Hanigan led off the fifth with a double and is the runner at third.

I'd still like to know the speed of his heater so far...

Kepp hits into a Phillips, Hanigan scores, now two outs.

2-1 Reds.

Yup. The more confident Bailey becomes at owning the zone, the more confident he'll get at throwing a put away pitch for strike three.

Toronto up 7-2. Looks like they beat-up on Jared Burton and Robert Manuel. Two really bad outings for Manuel now.

Manuel has very pedestrian stuff. Great control. Which means he is very hittable in the strikezone. Major League hitters will eat him alive.

Probably right. It was always his reputation. His good year last year may have been his high point. Not sure if that reliever of the year business created any buzz for him, but given the crowd in the pen, he's a guy the Reds should try to parlay into something else if he has any value at all.

Agree, I saw him pitch his first game in Dayton after the trade that brought him to the Reds. He pitched well, but I was not impressed worked at about 86-87 on the gun.

I went to this game. Manuel was blooped and bleeped all over the place. Burton got hit solidly.

By the way.... I don't know if there's a worst spring training park in MLB than the Blue Jays. Seriously, they should talk to Sarasota.
