According to the Sporting News Power Poll the Reds are ranked #24 in baseball after the first week, down 8 slots from the pre-season ranking of #16.

The comment for the team says: "The Reds haven't had much go right this season, but the return of aaron harang to ace status has been a welcome sight."

I'll try to keep this thread updated as the season goes on.

This week the Reds are up to #9, behind the Tigers and ahead of the Padres. Last week the Reds were #16.

Joey Votto and Jay Bruce are producing, but four regulars - Brandon Phillips, Alex Gonzalez, Chris Dickerson and Edwin Encarnacion, are struggling.

The #1 team is Boston, and the Nationals are last. The Cardinals are #4 and the Pirates are #6.

MLB. The NL Central has 3 teams in the top 9 in this poll.

I don't agree that the Reds should be in the top 9. Too little offense and too many errors thus far.

True, but 11th in MLB in ERA. And they are over .500.

I'm just not convinced that they are the 9th best team in the league. I'd say they are probably more middle of the pack than that.

^ Most likely. But let's enjoy it while it lasts!

Surprised that 1 game over .500 gets us to 9th ranking. Imagine if we really ever get good. Ahhh, I'm living for that day I figure.

The Reds have dropped 5 spots down to #14, behind the Cardinals (#3), Cubs (#6) and Brewers (#13).

That's probably about right for the Reds. I think the Brewers may be ranked a bit high though. Their pitching is not very good.

The Brew Crew has so much pop, and their pitching is just good enough to win a lot of games. I think as the season goes on, they will face the same problems with the bullpen that the Reds faced Pre-Cordero.
