Maybe they want the chance for Bruce to face the LH with a man on (and from the stretch) and feel behind Gomes is the best chance for that tonight?

Homer has allowed nine homers at AAA already. His AAA ERA is well over 4 - why would anyone think he is ready? Either they don't like Maloney or they are totally focused on major league experience in making these call up decisions.

Why not give the young man a full shot at a AAA season to develop? He seems to need it, it's ok, he's only 23, why the constant yo yo treatment year after year?

Throwing strikes does help, I suppose. You can see the persistent flashes of "plus" stuff from Homer. I get why the Reds continue to wait on him.

Every time I get impatient, I think of Edwin Jackson. From uber-prospect with the Dodgers, to failed prospect, to jettisoned to Tampa, to jettisoned to Detroit, he is now an "old man" at age 25 and all of a sudden seems to have it figured out. It takes time for some guys, I know.

Innings like that piss me off, you sign Willy Taveras and there are comments that he could steal 100 bases, yet with the game on the line he doesn't attempt to go until 2 outs and one strike on the hitter.

I got home in time to see Bailey walk the bases loaded. In that inning, I still saw a nibbler, who is not confident that his stuff can consistently get guys out. Go back to AAA Homer, and please Reds, do not bring him back until he is ready to trust his stuff in the Major Leagues. There is nothing more pathetic than watching a pitcher who is afraid to get hit.
