Cristian Guzman's ascension to legitmate hitter over the last few years has to be one of the most baffling things in baseball I've seen.

From the stat FSN ran in the top of the first, Sharon Martis is a good pitcher at home, horrible on the road so far in 2009. Overall ERA is at 5.21, but he is 3.77 at home, ERA over 7 on the road.

Now is not the time to be cute. You don't want any baserunners. A walk and a solo HR is basically the same thing in this situation.

And the Reds will have men on 1st and 3rd with no outs in the 12th, 13th, 16th, and 17th innings. They willl leave them loaded in the 14th and 15th.

Cueto will come in to start the 14th and strikeout the first 9 batters he faces. Then, in the bottom of the 17th, he'll give up a walk-off HR to Manny Acta (yep, he has to insert himself into the game) and Cueto's ERA will never dip below 5.00 again for his entire career.
