Sheesh, from the top of the division to last place among 6 teams is a FIVE game difference. Reds only 2.5 back now out of first, but also only 2.5 back out of last, with a .500 record. Talk about symmetry!
For comparison, the AL West is the next closest last to first differential with a 9.5 game difference - and there's only 4 teams in that division. Also last to first in the NL central is closer than the 7.5 back the second place team the Giants are in comparison to the Dodgers in the NL West.
This is the most competitive division in baseball, I hope we can do some work this week in the 6 game homestand with the D-Backs and then STL coming to town over the weekend. This time next week we could literally be in first, or last, or anywhere in between.
