This will be fun. We can keep track of McCarver's idiotic statements too.

Anyone want to bet Cordero doesn't get into the game?

Knowing you, it'll be stare.

Only one man loves Albert Pujols (or St. Louis for that matter) more than George Grande, and that man is Joe Buck.

I wonder if LaRussa were managing this game if he'd hit the pitcher 8th?

Tim Lincecum looks like a homely lesbian.

Not that there is anything wrong with it.

Hooters pageant works for me.

A Pujols error leads to the first run. 1-0 AL.

Lincecum not missing too many bats tonight... And now he fails to cover 1st and misses an inning ending dp.

I hope Cordero doesn't get into this game. The Orioles closer, George Sherrill, ended up pitching three innings in this game last year and I think it messed him up for the rest of the season. I'd rather Cordero stay on the bench tonight personally after watching what happened to Sherrill last year.

And can that Lincecum who couldn't find the strike zone and gave up some runs show up if the Reds have to face him in the second half of the season?! LOL

The All-Star game is the one game that SHOULD use the DH...

Other than that, rule can go away for all I care.

I agree...no DH....we don't care to see a pitcher really hit. How many AS Game Pitchers were really good hitters?

Wes Ferrell....Gibson....Drysdale....Newcombe.......Or el.

Glad Tim went 2......i guess they will hold back some starters just in case there is another extra innings. Don't trust either Hoffman or Cordero to close this game out...if it is 1-2 runs close.

I am thankful there is some place still discussing baseball. Everywhere else, including the broadcast, appears to be a political infomercial. It feels like people have never seen a U.S. President throw out a first pitch before.

As far as the game, it's being further ruined for me by the fact it's a Cardinals love fest. Anyone else having a hard time getting into this game?

I actually watched something else between 9-10 PM and I don't feel like I missed much of anything. This isn't really that exciting and I'm sure I'll be in bed sleeping before this game is over. I'm not a fan of the Cardinals gushfest either but it's better than the Yankee gushfest from last year (although that one made more sense since the Yankees have a ton of history and it was the last year for their ballpark).

It's amazing to me that this commissioner, who has done little good for the game since he's taken over, failed to just look at the history of the All-Star Game before making knee-jerk decisions to try to inflate its TV ratings.

It's always gone through HUGE streaks by one league or another. How Selig could think that linking World Series home-field advantage to this game is beyond me. And despite being a Reds fan and an NL fan, I find myself rooting for ASG chaos and continued AL domination, to further expose the fraud of Bud Selig.

Even if they win this game....it will still be NL 40 AL 38...which shows how dominant the NL was all during the 60's 70's and almost the whole 80's.

Tired of this AL domination....as i read the AL boards....they think it's the greatest domination ever in AS game history.

Does anyone even look at any baseball history on those boards.

Hard to argue that the AL is clearly the better league now, and over the past decade.

Agree that they are....although at least 3 of the last 5 games could and at least 1 if not 2 of them should have been NL wins. If only COULD counted.

Didn't Franklin get caught doing steriods a couple of years ago or am I think of something or someone else? Anyway it just shows you what a great pitching coach Dave Duncan is. I think he could take about anyone and make them into a decent pitcher.

I didn't know the Hooters pagent was on or I would have tuned to that. :D Oh well.......I went to bed after the 2nd inning anyway.

These all star streaks are just cyclable. The NL won something like 19 out of 20 when I was younger. Now the AL is on that type of streak. Probably before I die it will cycle back to the NL. The AL has had the better players for quite some time. But I see evening out more now than just a few years ago.

Don't know if anyone listens to The BS Report podcast with Bill Simmons, but on a recent show they threw out the idea that instead of the All-Star Game determining homefield for the WS, give it to the league that wins the most interleague games. I thought it was an interesting idea, if you are determined to award homefield on something other than best record. It sure would make the interleague games more interesting.

You know I've never liked the idea, but its hard to argue that it hasn't gained the results the commssioner wanted.

There's no doubt that the game has a little more intensity(especially to the managers.) And they're guaranteeing that managers aren't going to run out of players.
