A quiet Friday night, a house full of dogs glad to have some company (my parents are out of town...I'm house/dog sitting), satellite TV, high speed internet, a few coldies in the fridge and Reds baseball.

This isn't bad! I hope to watch an exciting, fun game! It's been a while since I've been able to actually watch one. George and Chris on the call, which will be interesting since I rarely get that experience. :)

I'll tell ya what I know you are not talking about Welsh but listening to him this year it seems like he has been reading RZ, he's made an awful lot of astute points throughout the season which jive with things we tend to come to a conclusion on here. Never noticed him doing that in prior seasons.

On the replay, he began his slide when he got above the bag. Since his intent was to go past the bag, that opened him up to interference.

Slowing it down on my DVR, Cameron's backside didn't make contact with the ground until he was at least even with the bag. I'm all for hard slides to break up double plays, but I believe his late slide put him too far away from bag and directly into the fielder.

Now I believe Welsh has a VERY good point in that they could have NOT called interference because it appears that Phillips didn't intend to make a throw to 1st.

If Eddie can play the way everyone seems to think he's capable, it could change the whole look of this team. It could fill the void rather than needing a trade to hang in or it could allow them to focus on a trade for other needs.
