Though our best chances of making the playoffs are to win the division as there are fewer teams to pass and less ground to make up, here is the current Wild Card standings with records and games behind:

San Francisco..... 50-41 ...... - -
Colorado............ 50-42 ...... 0.5
Chi Cubs............ 47-43 ...... 2.5
Milwaukee.......... 47-45 ...... 3.5
Atlanta.............. 46-46 ...... 4.5
Houston............. 46-46 ...... 4.5
Florida............... 46-47 ...... 5.0
Cincinnati........... 44-47 ...... 6.0

So, when you're scoreboard watching this week, you know who to root against. (Always root against the Cards, of course.)

It's done. This team can not make the playoffs. It's fun to dream though.

I'm not throwing in the towel yet. We eventually have to reel off 7 or 8 W's in a row, and when we do, we'll be right there in the mix.

Leap-frogging 7 teams? No problem. :p:

I'd be less surprised if they won the division.

This team isn't capable of reeling off 7 or 8 wins in a row. Even when they were playing well in May the longest win streak was 4.

winning 7 games might be possible but every other team losing 7 in a row proibably isnt

This team's time to strike was in May to try and fan the flames when people were still healthy and playing well. Now a combination of things and its too late.

"Hey Nowww!"

In this division, you never know what may happen. We don't have a dominate team like the Dodgers in it. (Thank goodness)

And instead, exactly as I predicted here, they sat back and used the fool's gold "We're only 2 1/2 games back" mantra to justify sitting on their hands and doing nothing to be proactive in an effort to take control of a LOUSY division. It was there for the taking. And once again, the Cincinnati ownership/management gave the fans nothing.
