Seven games behind the Cards.
Five and a half games behind both the Astros and Cubs.
Three and a half games behind the Brewers.
Only one and a half games in front of the cellar-dwelling Pirates.

Get that fork out. This team is done.

If the Cards were the only team in front of them it would take a huge effort to overtake them. Mix in the Astros, Cubs and Brewers and there aren't enough candles that can be lit to St. Jude (Patron of Lost Causes). Dollar dogs and September call-ups are all that remain if Walt doesn't wake up from his mid-season slumber.

Are we sellers yet, Walt?

Easy now... there is still a week left before the trading deadline for this band of underachieving misfits to turn the season around. All Walt needs to do is trade for a left fielder, a center fielder and right fielder, a shortstop, catcher, and one more overpaid starting pitcher and we are so in this thing.

That was the plan right? don't buy, until you have to sell...

Another West Coast trip buries this team. Kinda like the sun coming up in the East every morning. Six important games and the Reds are nine, make that eight and a half innings away from bringing back a big, fat goose-egg number of wins. More crappy defense today, more brain-fart baseball plays, more lack of effort.

Why would a fan, any fan, pay money to watch this team play? Aside from Votto, Rhodes and a couple of others does anyone see anything worth paying money to go down and watch?

Those dollar dogs better be jumbo-sized.

I contend this season officially ended the moment that Pujols' bat made contact with that weak offering from David Weathers on the night of July 3rd.

You may be on to something there.

Or maybe the instant Dusty decided to bring Weathers in. Pretty much the same thing.
