Unprofessional.
There are a number of guys on this roster who have no business playing major league baseball. Some of them simply do not have the talent to play at this level and it shows day after day. I don't blame them, I blame the people in the front office who have such poor judgement.
There are others on this team who have the talent to play at this level, but are quite honestly unprofessional. There are a few guys on this team who have no idea how to "play the game the right way." You see it show up with a lack of hustle time and time again. You also see so many mistakes from this team that are from a lack of preperation / concentration. These guys I do blame, but there are others to blame for these players as well.
If the manager is not going to take the necessary actions to get these guys to "play the game the right way" then it has to come from another coach or from some veteran leadership. The only veteran leadership on this team is in the bullpen, which happens to be really the only team strength. It's hard for a bullpen veteran to be a team leader when he's not even in the dugout, so it has to come from some one else. There is no one who fits the mold in the Reds everyday players, so if Dusty doesn't do it (which I don't think he is capable of mainly due to his personality) then he needs to having a coaching staff that isn't afraid to chew someone a new *******. Additionally, this problem needs to be addressed at the lower levels so when a player does come up he is already programed "how to play the game".
If these two problems, lack of talent and lack of discipline, are not addressed then we will continue to see Unprofessional baseball in Cincinnati.
