Two zip Padres on Gonzalez homer run. Oh well, tomorrow is another day.

Aaron Harang is stuck with us indefinitely.

Sigh

Absolutely the worst excuse for an "ace" there is. And he almost never steps up when this club needs a shut-down performance. 2-0 Padres already? Geesh

Harang must really want to stay n Cincinnati. ;) Actually, as Brantley mentioned, he has no choice in the matter, "He no longer is the same pitcher he was 1 1/2 years ago."

Harang should worry less about changing his facial hair before each game and more about pitching.

We could say these type of things about almost all of the Reds pitchers and hitters.

How does Gonzo hit 1HR in 120 plate appearances....and then jack 3 in 7 at bats vs. the Reds?

It's a rhetorical question, I know.

Hey Bob C: the hitters aren't hitting and the pitchers aren't pitching.

Are we still "possible contenders"?

My god this franchise is all kinds of backwards.

Nothing to be done but to pay out the absurd contracts of Harang and Arroyo and try to avoid such mistakes in the future.

Brantley suggested earlier that Arron was purposely changing his approach from his deceptively sneaky fastball work to trying to do more change up/offspeed stuff. I'm paraphrasing because I don't remember exactly how he said it.

Likely just Cowboy babble, but if there even an inkling of truth to that idea, it raises some interesting questions.

Harang and Arroyo need to pitch in a different stadium. They give up too many home runs. They are fly ball pitchers throwing in a band box.

Tatum walked to start the inning and Harang bunted him over...
I guess Harang is going to pitch the 7th or the Reds don't have any good bats on the bench?

mbgrayson

Tatum walks, first BB of the game for Latos. Then Harnag bunts him to second.

Why would we give away an out down 5-1? I suppose Dusty wants to leave Harang in, and he is better off bunting....

Another powerful offensive display by the Reds. They've had two guys reach base in 20 plate appearances. Way to go again, boys. That .315 team on-base percentage continues to sink lower and lower.

Hairston's unlikely connection is all that stands between us and being no hit by a kid who hasn't been in the majors 2 weeks. Impressive offensive design by Walt and Dusty.

Walked the 1st hitter then gave up a hit before being pulled.

Two straight starts by Harang with 119 pitches and 120 pitches. Not that it matters anymore anyway. Narron repeatedly took the chainsaw to his arm, and teh Dusty's worked his magic on him already.

Harang's been pitching like his arm is just shot. Might as well just unload him now while he still has some value before it's too late.

Can't imagine any team is interested in a high-priced pitcher that throws 1st-inning batting practice to the worst team in the league.

I just noticed Baker sent Harang out to pitch in the 8th with 109 pitches already in the bank. He did that yesterday when Arroyo had 112 in the bank.

That's just brutal management.

Meanwhile, could Everth Cabrera be more awesome?

I think he might have had another triple in his tank, if Alfonzo hadn't been a base ahead of him. Watching him play baseball is like watching Manny Pacquiao box.
