Of all the times we have discussed taking on an injured player this is the one that seems possible and fitting for both sides. I could easily see why a local guy would like to be closer to home while rehabbing from a shoulder problem. Do you think the Reds would take a chance on this one? As long as one of the big market guys dont jump into the mix and try to offer a insane deal I think we could be a legit match. He's the type of pitcher we should take the risk on. He would profile great in GABP most likely if he can return to even 90% of what he was the last few years.

ASHLAND — Arizona ace Brandon Webb’s season is officially over.

The right-hander will be undergoing surgery on Monday in Arlington, Texas to resolve problems with his right shoulder. Specialist Dr. Keith Meister, the Rangers’ team physician, will perform the operation, according to Webb’s father, Philip Webb.

We have an aging 3rd basemen, on the down side of his career I would be willing to trade for him

so having the highest batting average of a 14 year hall of fame career is the down side?

Not to mention he's done that in a better league. The NL Central is AAA compared to the AL East.

I'd take a flyer on Webb (incentive based of course) if the Dbacks don't pick up his option.

I doubt the Dbacks pick up the option on a hurt pitcher considering they didnt offer Dunn arbitration last season.
