Indeed :). It hit me last night that the Reds have had exactly one winning season (2000 - our first year) since this site was founded...so maybe you can blame us at some level. ;)

I'm very thankful for RedsZone and hope the next ten years give us more reason to celebrate being Cincinnati Reds Fans. :thumbup:

JMO, but I think it would be neat to do something on the board to commemorate the ten year anniversary.

One idea would be to have a poster awards similar to what we have had in the past. Something to where we can recognize people for their contributions to this site in numerous ways.

To echo what others have said, this is arguably the best Reds board hands down for a family environment. I have posted on other UK and Cincinnati Bengals message boards that are more tailored to the college-aged regular sports fan and this one is by far the best. I only wish there were other boards similar to what we have here (and it has taken work).

Agreed. It sounds like fun and it would give us something to talk about in the offseason. If no one else is willing I would be glad to organize it...

Saveafan has always done it in the past and did a fine job in my opinion.

Though in the whole scheme of things it doesn't really matter to me.

Me too, and gives me an excuse for why I never finished that book I've been meaning to write, cleaned the garage I was going to clean, started that exercise program I was going to start, etc.

On another forum I post on they have a HOF ceremony. Just one forum strictly for the RZ HOF and 1 thread per season for some arbitrary number of inductees (5 per year?). Each inductee gets some sort of internet style plaque and a small pic of plaque under his/her avatar/post count. Each member posts his/her acceptance speech in the thread and the thread is locked for good.

10 years of RZ and 10 years of coming to this site faithfully almost daily says this is a special site in more ways than one why not a special yearly celebration of recognition for those who have made it what it is. I know some might think that it's a bit much for a message board but I think it's kind of cool to be able to pay homage to those posters who have made the RZ experience a special one for a lot of people. We are not just a message board here we are a community of people devoted to the Reds, the game of baseball and to a larger extent each other. Time to show some love and have something to look forward to every year besides the Reds.

As for the special awards...I'm going through so much right now, I don't get to visit the board as often as I'd like. I would be okay with passing the torch onto someone new for the 10 year anniversary.

I think only Pittsburgh, Tampa, KC and Washington/Montreal won fewer games in the aughts than the Reds.
