A pitiful play by Balentein. He defintely belongs on this team.

Cueto is dealing tonight. Looks like earlier in the season. Unfortunately, he allowed one run which might be insurmountable.

One zip Cubs going to bottom of three.

47 pitches through 3 for Cueto.

Awesome defensive play by Willy T!

Wow. Who is that team out there playing stellar defense? Gonzalez with a sliding stop to his left, glove flip to Phillips for the first out, who jump-throws to 1st to beat Theriot by a step.

Gomes made up for it with his play to start the inning.

That was one completely fantastic play by Willy T. One of the better catches I've seen in some time. Maybe not as good as the diving play by Freel a few years back but pretty close.

Well played Willy.

Just saw the lineup too... what in the world does Hanigan need to do to get moved up in the order. 8th is the absolute worst spot for a guy with great OBP and no power and there are 4 guys in the lineup who can't find first. If this were blackjack, Dusty would be holding on a pair of threes. Sure, you got a dealt a crappy hand, but at least try to make the best out of it would ya?

Balentien with another hard hit ball that went for an out.
This time he hit it up the middle and it bounced off the pitchers foot to the shortstop who threw to first for the ground out.

Right now, Reds must have the worst offense in the major leagues, all things considered. They just cannot score. They play in a band box yet they cannot score. It's really unbelievable.

That ball has to be caught.

That's a bit harsh, but it was certainly an easier play than the other one Willy T made at the wall.

Might be all the runs the Cubs need tonight.

Yep. That was a tough play, but most CF's make that catch.

4-0 Cubs on various bloops and a lack of control by Cueto who constantly went to full counts to Cubs hitters. They point out on TV that Cueto wasn't throwing his fastball but threw lots of off speed and curve balls with men on base.

So the Reds trail by four. You know what that means.

Welsh needs to can it. Cueto threw fine. JC should have been out of the inning after that bloop to Wily T....nothing wrong with Cueto's outing tonight. The Cubs aren't hitting the ball hard at all.

Not to make excuses for these pitchers, but it must be extremely difficult to pitch with absolutely no run support.

Now Herrera gives up a hit, five zip Cubs.

Herrera departs, as do I.

The Reds started four guys with a 2009 season OPS of .610 or lower, and not surprisingly they've got two hits as a team thus far tonight.

This is a team that's liable to be no hit this season if teh Dusty keeps running these types of lineups out. I've been trying to remember some horrid baseball, but as far as putrid offense goes, this is as bad as I can remember.

It's an incredibly hard brand of baseball to watch.

I was at the game...I left in the 7th.

The Cubs "fans" certainly had a lot to cheer about. I wonder if half of them could name 3 players on the Chicago team?

The Reds play in a hitters park and choose to fill their roster with banjo hitters that can't get on base.

This Pitching Staff may leave a lot to be desired but I wish we had'em back in 2003-2006 when we had some offense.

On the brightside I liked Balentien's HR and hope to see him get more playing time.
