Willy T doubles.

Are you doing the pbp and drinking at the same time?

Kc61
08-10-2009, 08:16 PM
Gonzo sacrifices. Willy T on third.

Kc61
08-10-2009, 08:17 PM
Are you doing the pbp and drinking at the same time?

It was an actual double. Liner into the gap. Easily made it to second.

Apparently.

Kc61
08-10-2009, 08:20 PM
Phillips with a sac fly.

A run.

Kc61
08-10-2009, 08:22 PM
Votto called out on strikes.

No argument.

Reds one zip after half inning.

Kc61
08-10-2009, 08:28 PM
Schumaker doubles and moves to third on fly out to center. Pujols is up now with a man on third one out.

08-10-2009, 08:28 PM
Johnny, you may have never thrown one before, but throw some splitters right here :D

Kc61
08-10-2009, 08:29 PM
Pujols walks on four pitches. Holliday up with first and third. Holliday hitting .466 as a Card.

As much as we complain about George, Welsh, Cowboy, and Thom (Well, mostly just George), the actual Cardinals announcers are 100x more annoying. And I get them everytime the Reds and Cardinals play each other. Blech.

Kc61
08-10-2009, 08:33 PM
Holliday hits a sac fly to Gomes. Tie game.

Cueto almost never has a clean first inning.

johnny no arm gomes

He showed a pretty decent arm, just was in no way in a good position to throw home. Wasn't coming in, was right under it. Stood flat footed and not a good crow-hop

Pujols steals second.

I didn't "see" it, but Marty thought Albert was out at 2nd. For those who saw it, was he out? If so, there would be no sac fly and a 1-0 game going to inning 2.

11larkin11
08-10-2009, 08:35 PM
1 run for Cueto in the first?

Good inning.

I realize that when you have your most inept hitters setting the table, that a sacrifice bunt is probably the best outcome you can hope for in that situation, but I don't like playing for a single run in the first inning. You're playing one of the most potent offenses in the NL since Holliday was added, why concede outs?

1-1 after the 1st inning, following Ankiel's strikeout.

Kc61
08-10-2009, 08:36 PM
Ankiel the outfielder strikes out swinging. Tied at one each after one.

If someone else wants to do PBP feel free, I'll be back later.

I turned the game off to head up to my daughters' room to move one daughter's stuff to the attic (pending her move to DC) to make room for her sister's stuff when she moves back from Atlanta before moving to Chicago at the end of the month.

I hopped in the shower since I'd cut the grass, cleaned both BR's and move the aforementioned boxes. Came back down and heard Jeff say "Wells" and I had to run through the game thread to see what happened to Cueto. Lets hope he keeps up this 1 2 3 stuff the rest of the way.

What were Dusty and Dick Pole thinking? Kip Wells looked good for a couple of innings, but had not thrown for a week and a half. He was not going to last long. Seems a bit shortsighted to not have someone prepared to take over if needed (and it was needed) a bit sooner. Wells lost it (probably due to lack of playing). Help was brought in two batters too late. Bad decision making.

I agree but this seems the norm for Wells career. Has it for an inning or two than loses it. I think the reaction by Dusty and Pole was slow I would have had a quicker hook.
