Nice to see Joey say "Bite me" to his hitting slump by getting a hit in his first at bat today. :)

Rolen would have been great to have batting behind Brandon for this inning....:(

Sad that we could only get one run out of that--two hits and two walks before there were two out.

There's a good chance Sparky Anderson would have pinch-hit there if he were still the skipper.

Kip gets out of the 1st inning unscathed after having a guy on third and only one out. Nice job. Now let's get some runs please! :)

Joey says "Bite me!" a little louder this time with a double to lead off the 3rd inning! :D

The tandem of Balentien and Rosales are fanning away with men on base. Reds should have more than one run, but they lead one zip.

Nice throw by Gomes to nail Barmes.

Story of the series so far the Reds have gotten good enough pitching to win games vs. the Rockies.

Young is definitely the new Reds pest. Contreras looks like his day is done.

All of this after a bunt that Wells could have fielded. Sigh.

Offense is terrible....the pitching has carried the team during this streak. Pathetic hitting ....all the way around.

It's your fault Heather if you would have gone to bed last night none of this would have happened.

*throws rocks at Kory* :p:

And my guy is doing his part today so you can't blame anything on him. It's not his fault the guys behind him aren't getting him in once he's on base! ;) Joey's only a HR and a triple from the cycle right now and after reading a great update about him in Fay's blog a little while ago, it wouldn't surprise me if he actually hit for it today, LOL

Never glad to see the Reds swept. I'm happy for the Rox, however. They are a very exciting team to watch. They'll be my NL team to cheer for in the playoffs, although I don't think their pitching can get it done.

I prefer the Giants over these guys. I have disliked this team since 1995...something about them always rubbed me the wrong way. Starting with this ballpark before the humidor.

I think it is better this way, the hot streak distorted what was a complete train wreck of a team since late June.

Just got in from work and saw where Rosales and Balantein have both struck out 3 times each. And the Reds are getting swept. Any team should win one of four. Of course most teams would score more than 8 runs in those 5 games, too.

Pitiful offense.

It is pitiful.....these guys are just hacking and not even thinking. Take strikes...swing at balls. I mean they are paying attention but in the wrong way as they keep duplicating their AB's and not adjusting to anything.

Now we get Belisle...who has pitched like Ben Hayes 1983...Tom Hume 1984...bad this year.... yet no problem. BP swung through 2 good fastablls...still got a hit when he threw another one. Gomes hit the 1st one hard but the 2nd baseman was positioned where i wish BP had been last night. Now Balentin looks terrible today and does not want to K for the 4th time ..so he badly swings at nothing to pop up.

Do i sound bitter?

Stubbs can play some CF. Nice. Just bat the kid 7th. Of course, you've only got 7-8-9 hitters on the roster (with a few exceptions), so that might be difficult.

Belisle or anyone looks like Cy Young against this horribly emasculated offensive team.

Say Goodnight, Gracie.

Dusty said that this was his kind of team.

Then, Fire Dusty. This is the kind of team no one likes. They can't hit, the pitching is on and off and the management is insane. Nothing of redeeming value here.

Good grief.
