Put Bruce in right and Gomes in left and that's a good line up

Reds trivia for the Cowboy. How many members of the '75 reds managed in the big leagues. 6, 4 or 2. Brantley said 4. It's 2 isn't it? Rose & Doggie.

You think so? I don't care for Janish in the 2 hole, and I really don't care for Miller starting at all. But it's not bad I guess.

Considering he's pretty much lost his power at this stage...should we consider Rolen in the 2 hole? He's got good bat control and he hits both lefties & righties fairly well. He might be a good solution for that problem.

Bill Plummer. Not sure who the 4th is. Maybe John Vuckovich.

Stubbs doubles in McDonald. 1-0 Reds.

Hooray Stubbs.

I tell you, Stubbs is the big RBI guy for the middle of the lineup the Reds have been looking for!

He drives in McDonald from second with a clutch two out double.

Reds 1 Marlins 0

Maybe Doc Rogers was right. Bruce has been scarce since his return. Maybe dusty won't play him if he continues to struggle. I thought Rogers was full of stuff, but maybe he does have some inside information.

Stubbs (kinda) beats out an infield hit, then the Marlins imitate the Reds of a few years ago as Janish bunts, and is safe when no one covers first.

first and second, no one out for Votto.

Blind squirrel - nut. It was pretty clear that when he wasn't put in the lineup his first day back, combined with Dusty saying that he was still rusty, that the plan was never to play Bruce everyday down the stretch. Doc is just basing his stuff on these observations.

Kip Wells:

6 IP, 2H, 0R, 0BB, 0K, 0HR. I'm sure BABIP will get all the credit, but he's forcing the Reds to protect him on the 40 man. ERA down to 4.78.

Wells gets Carroll to GO to 3rd, and pinch hitter Sanchez lines out to Phillips at 2nd. After a Coghlan double, Nick Johnson lines out to center field. Fish still not on the scoreboard after their half of the 6th.

Janish with another double. Its scary that the Reds three biggest needs all have hot players (Stubbs, Janish, and Wells), I hope they aren't too content.

Don't forget McDonald in LF. He's hot right now too.

So I guess Jocketty was right when he suggested the Reds were set for next year.

Marlins ought to feel fortunate to get a split. They nearly got swept.
