Obviously.

I give him hitting tips between innings.

Two flairs and a SB leaves first and third, no outs and Berkman up.

Uh-oh.

I should have figured that why he's so good. ;)

Really nice defense.

Berkman grounds to Votto, who fires home, gets Bourn in a rundown, Miller tags him out, keeps runners at first and second.

Then Lee hits into a very pretty 6-4-3 DP.

No score after a half.

Odds of Juan Francisco falling down on a swing and miss tonight?

He almost fell down on that hit he smoked off of Berkman's glove. lol

When he hits, he really hits it.

That's not a pattern, that's straight-up an algebraic equation.

Juan Francisco can not be stopped, he can only be contained.

Based loaded single, drives in two

Reds 4 Astros 0

I'm not sure where, but I think underpants and profit are involved in there somewhere.

College football and a replay of the Braves game from earlier today instead of the Reds on the FSN channels I get.

Lehr is the new Milton. Man, that's 7 HRs in less than 8 innings. That has to be some sort of record.

Pencil him in to start...at Louisville.

Okay, so I know I said I was bad at math, but I lied. Speaking of patterns....

In the second, the Astros scored 1 run, the Reds 2. In the third the Astros scored 1 run and the Reds scored 3. If they keep this up, the Reds should win 44-8.

Bang! Bang! Herrera throws an 81mph slider to strike out the batter and I'm sure Corky's throw to second to get the runner was faster than 81.
After 7 complete it's Reds 8 - Astros 4.

Wow, the Reds sure are having fun with their bats tonight! I'm glad to see Jay having another good night and I ALWAYS enjoy seeing Joey tear it up during a game. :D Hey, could the Reds actually win tonight by the same score that they won with last night?! That would be a riot, LOL

I bet SirCharles is having a great time at the game! :D

If he can play left field, they could platoon him out there and let him spell Rolen, who will need it, on occasion. That last at bat was poor, but he does have a knack up there, as one poster once correctly said.

The Corkinator gets into the mix with a single.

Of all the Reds, Corky looked the most impressive during BP tonight. He must've hit 8-10 dingers off the wall just below the glass in left. Absolute bombs...but of course it was BP. :O)

Anyway, we just got back from the game. My daughter and I had great seats. Almost exactly where that guy was from last nights game who caught the flung bat into the stands down the third base line. Anyway, prior to the game during BP, I predicted a 10-2 score. I thought I nailed if for a while there. :O) I also lucked out and called Bruce's shot late in the game. It was a really great night overall. Votto the double machine continues to knock the cover off the ball. We got the win. And my daughter got Jay Bruce's, Drew Stubbs & Juan Francisco's autographs. Kudos to her. :O)

It's also time to cut Justin a little bit of slack. Anybody notice the number of starts & innings he's logged this season. Good grief. That's one heck of a workload. All in all, I think he's handled himself in the bigs quite well considering his rather pedestrian stuff.

But yeah...Louisville it'll be.

He's the kind of player the coaches of the world always like. He goes out does his job, sometimes very poorly, never complains and gives 100%, but just doesn't do well enough to be vital on a championship club. And yet he plays because he's so...hard working?

Regardless, I look at the ERA's of Justin and Owings and wonder why we even bother. But that's a downer on an upper night. Louisville it will be.

They could be guys you store there beacuse of injuries or if you need an extra arm due to rainouts. Long man in the bullpen. I like Owings better for this beacuse of his ability to hit.

Too bad this is not the 50's rules....and we can store them in perpetual serfdom in the minors.

No, I think he plays because he's been so successful in the minors this year. He simply deserved the callup. Who down on the Bats deserved it more? I know W-L record doesn't define a pitcher, but it's hard to totally discount a 43-9 record over the past 3 years. Say what you want about his peripherals, but that's an incredibly impressive record. Considering our injury situation, I'm happy that he's getting a shot. If we're healthy though, there should be no chance that he's in the mix. But he's a solid guy to have available on the farm.
