Awesome. First hand accounts, much appreciated Next, as this one is not on mlb audio in any fashion.

Wish I spoke Spanish. CoCo is telling a story that has tje attention of most of the Spanish speaking players. Seems to be very funny. Lots of knee slapping and laughing.

Sorry got a phone call.

Second inning Cueto got I to a little trouble due to Votto dropping a pop up but got out of it. Wlad doubled to right but was left at second.

Still 0-0

Edmonds lines should be double to wall in left. Gomes makes perfect quick throw and nails him at second. His UZR drops by 3.7 points. ;-)

<---both thankful AND jealous of the PBP.

I wish I could be there at the game too, durnit. My brother & kids are at the game right now (they live in Goodyear). I think we just might go visit them next year...hmmm...this time of year seems to be a nice time for a visit. :O)

Seriously though...thanks for the updates 44.

For all the grief Gomes receives from people (this board? everyone?) about his defense, he seems to make a lot of good plays. Plus, I've never seen him not make a play because he didn't hustle. I like that.

I agree. I was totally unfamiliar with him prior to joining the Reds, but from what I saw last season, his D isn't ANYWHERE close to being as bad as advertised.

Gameday has that shot to the wall listed as McGehee, not Edmonds.

Everyone is more than welcome. My pleasure to help the great Redszone anyway I can.

A few fun notes and observations

Great fan friendly ballpark, although surprised by the sparse turnout. Hopefully attendance will build over time.

Leake and Anderson signed free autographs for the first 150 through the gate who were willing to wait a half an hour in line. But actually lots of players signed during batting practice so if you come, bring a pen.

Two kids around 6 years old during the game were trying to get players Autographs and Ellis Burks came over and very sweetly instructed them on proper autograph ettiquite then gave each a ball to use for later.

During the seventh inning stretch, Eric Davis jockingly instructed the crowd in stretching exercises. Very funny and cool.

Next, I was also at the game, and will be there Sunday also Section 119 Row A.

At least when I went by it was Cozart and Anderson signing. George Foster was signing the whole gaame but his were $10.

I agree that the stadium as a whole is a vast improvement over Sarasota, but it pales to some of the real nice Arizona stadiums.

Went to the minor league facilities and watched workouts for an hour or so. They are also way way better, and the fans have a better view. At Sarasota there was a low fence that kept fans away from the fields. Here the fences are far closer to each field.
