Stubbs up with two on and none out.

membengal
03-12-2010, 03:41 PM
Kershaw all of a sudden decides to start throwing strikes again, back to back curve balls for strikes to get ahead of Stubbs. He's having trouble locating his fastball but not the breaking ball.

And Ks Stubbs on a breaking ball that the announcers said was darn near unhittable, chin to knees curve ball.

Yes, it adds something to the game and besides it isn’t always possible to get a lot of detail from the writers, just depends sometimes on their focus as to how much we get on today’s game. You guys are another source for information and up to date and minute news on the Reds with the PBP.

Jeff Brantley will be happy, as he wanted to see how Chapman would react to some adversity in one of his outings. Last pitch around 98. Steiner noting that it doesn't seem like he is putting any effort into it.

On the Ausmus out, he basically threw his bat at the ball and ht the ball just a bit harder than a bunt. It was more of a pop out. He was clearly confused and frustrated by Chapman.

also on the pickoff play Alonso did a nice job oF blocking the bag so the runner had no path back.

Chapman really settled in the second inning.

Anytime a Dodger has taken a full cut, he's been late. The only real contact they've made has been by just flicking their bats.

Absolutely no signs of control problems. Even when he went 3-0 in his first inning, they were all around the. Plate, just missing.

And they are all so focused on trying to catch up to the fastball that they don't have a chance against anything off speed.

Alonso pops up foul in left
Dickerson singles

Cute incident on a foul ball Dickerson hit. The 1b tossed to a little kid in the first row who dropped it back on the field. The ump tossed it to him again and he dropped it again, then Hatcher tosseed it and he dropped it third time. So Hatcher walked over and handed it to him.

LOL... From my buddies facebook page who went to the game today to get some pictures of Chapman:

Mark Rebilas All done with game 2. While standing behind the plate shooting reds 100mph phenom Chapman the catcher motioned me to move from behind the plate. Thought he was just being a Jerk(edited) but 2 pitches after I moved Chapman threw a wild pitch that hit right where I had been. The crowd let out a big ohhh and catcher pointed at me... and smiled. Ramon Hernandez thanks for saving my life!!

One more observation about Chapman.

His fastball seems to gave a little extra giddy up in the last ten feet. Most fast balls lose around 7 mph from hand to catchers mitt. I would love to see how much Chapman loses on his because it really seems much different in those last ten feet than most other's.
