They are going to sit in the sun, get drunk and cheer for a team they know won't win a championship when its all said and done. What's the difference between ST and regular season to them?

Cubs have the lead 7-4 as Owings and Adkins opened the floodgates.

Francisco seems to be out of the game preventing him from hitting any more home runs today.

Ouch!! I can live with the Cubs winning, though it is just a bit tough thinking, Cubs fans, are getting rewarded with their sweet dispositions. :(

Who in the world is Jon Adkins?

Former closer for the Louisville Bats. Spent last season pitching in Korea. Battling jet lag this spring.

Reds take it on the chin 11-4. Loss goes to Adkins, who surrendered seven hits and five earned runs in 1 IP. Highlights: Bailey's strong opening and Francisco's two dingers. Ondrusek also shuts down Cubs for the final frame, continuing to make his case for the one open bullpen slot.

I see the DH was used in this game even though it was between two NL clubs. What is the rhyme or reason as to when the DH is used in Cactus League games?

Ron Madden
03-16-2010, 02:28 AM
It gives the coaching staff an opportunity to look at more players.

Yeah, I get that but how is it done? Is it up to the discretion of each team or do they agree to a set of rules before hand?
