I really think it was just a matter of him trying to aim it, since midway thru the Ramirez AB he has consistently been in the zone, found his release point and is just letting it rip. Although 2 hits given up in that time.

The old Homer would have given up about seven runs in this game but he battled tonight and only gave up three keeping the Reds in the game (if they could actually find some offense but that's a whole other issue). Learning experience for Homer and I'm sure he'll take this and use the lessons for his next start.
