Any word on the corresponding roster move for the Leake call-up?

Please let it be Miguel Cairo.

From Fay:

Jay Bruce (.056) getting a day off, partly to take a day and partly because Dickerson hits lefties fairly well, manager Dusty Baker said this morning.

MLB.com seems to think the reds are now cheating with a 26-man roster. I assumed it would have been Francisco?

Even if JF goes down, they still need to clear room on the 40 man.

Mike Leake on "Reds Live" right now. Hadn't really seen a close up of him. Looks kinda like Bronson Jr. Listening to him, sounds like he pitches kinda like him too - depending on placement more than just "raw stuff".

The entire Reds lineup this year, outside of Stubbs and Dickerson, has been totally pathetic at working opposing starters. They're giving up easy outs to opposing starters and rarely making pitchers labor to get through an inning or throw high-stress pitches.

If it doesn't change, this offense is going to continue to struggle.

And for what it's worth, that's a GREAT thing. For a groundball pitcher, one of the best things they can do is work quickly. It helps keep the defenders on their toes and in the game (even though they should do that anyway...but we all know that they don't).

Admittedly, there's a small part of me that wants the Reds FO smacked around a little for the hubris of thinking they can throw a guy like this right into the majors. It's a decision that just defies all logic and common sense, especially when there were more seasoned options available.
