Lineups from C Trent:

Reds vs. Dodgers RHP Chad Billingsley
Drew Stubbs cf
Orlando Cabrera ss
Joey Votto 1b
Brandon Phillips 2b
Scott Rolen 3b
Jay Bruce rf
Jonny Gome lf
Ramon Hernandez c
Homer Bailey p

Dodgers vs. Reds RHP Homer Bailey
Rafael Furcal ss
Matt Kemp cf
Andre Ethier rf
Manny Ramirez lf
James Loney 1b
Casey Blake 3b
Blake DeWitt 2b
Russell Martin c
Chad Billingsley p

I don't ever do a lineup thread, but thought I'd do one hoping for some change in luck. Perhaps while they are in town Dusty can show Joe the correct CF/SS positions in the lineup.

Seriously, looking at the Dodgers lineup, it looks really strong. They have some nice young talent supplemented with Furcal and Manny. Strong.

IIRC, at the time, Ortiz was said to have the potential of Pedro Martinez. Again if I remember correct, it didn't really work out that way--I think he had a penchant for not throwing the ball over the plate consistently -- and when he did, it often left the park. Maybe, his reunion at the GABP will be more of the same.

Disagree. No hint of the high 90s fastball that blew guys down and secondary stuff was awful. I could have handled the poor beginning had he breezed through the 6th, but whatever he found in the 4th and 5th he lost as quickly. He certainly didn't have his velocity, but he rebounded from that first inning nicely. That last inning, he was all over the strike zone until the last batter or two.
