Good morning, afternoon, and goodnight to that first batter! Wow, Cueto is going after everyone. That's a good sign! :D

redsfaninbsg
04-24-2010, 01:13 PM
Gonzalez HR; do the Reds ever score first?

HeatherC1212
04-24-2010, 01:14 PM
HR Gonzalez. :(

How do people not know about Adrian Gonzalez? I've heard about him for a while now and they keep talking about him being the best player you've never heard of but I don't buy it. He's a phenomenal hitter and I kind of hope the Padres start sucking soon so they trade him to some AL team, LOL

HeatherC1212
04-24-2010, 01:16 PM
HR aside, that wasn't a bad start for Cueto. I hope he can keep being aggressive and stay ahead in the counts. Time for some offense off this Leblanc guy (and I think the bad French stuff from Thom and Chris is going to get old real fast, LOL :p: ).

1B Stubbs Cueto out 3-5 going to third. My God.......

redsfaninbsg
04-24-2010, 01:54 PM
Isn't there a saying about not making the first or third out at 3rd base? This is stuff you teach in junior varsity baseball.

HeatherC1212
04-24-2010, 01:54 PM
If they weren't paying attention to him, I think Cueto could have made it to third with everyone focused on getting Stubbs out at first, but I HATE when teams make the last out at third. :thumbdown

Ahhh, that sucks but I see what happened there. Cueto won't make that mistake again when he knows Drew is hitting after him, LOL

redsfaninbsg
04-24-2010, 01:55 PM
Cueto not paying attention, assuming Stubbs would be out. You can't script some of this.

He was out but it was a pretty close call.

redsfaninbsg
04-24-2010, 02:07 PM
This team is so frustrating, 3-0 Padres on a 2 rbi double. Routine fly balls go for doubles, bang bang plays go the way of the other team, base runners assuming outs and making a you know what of themselves, the team, and everybody that follows them....

HeatherC1212
04-24-2010, 02:07 PM
Annoying. Cueto isn't pitching horribly but the breaks aren't going the Reds way. He needs to buckle down and attack the batters again.

redsfaninbsg
04-24-2010, 02:09 PM
F6 double play. Inning over, thank God.

HeatherC1212

Joey struck out looking his last time out Thom (on a non strike IMO).

HeatherC1212

Joey flies out to LF. Two outs.

HeatherC1212

Nice of the negative people to show up (and yes, I agree that the baserunning issues are annoying today).

Leblanc grounds out to Joey for the first out.

By the way...I would have had no problem inserting Nix into left for the top of the 6th.

Gonzalez flies out to right center for the first out.

HeatherC1212

Veneble has the weirdest batting stance I've ever seen. He looks like he's all squished up in his upper body and I can't even fathom how he gets hits by batting that way.

Tom Servo
04-24-2010, 02:39 PM
Stubbs and Bruce's averages are depressing.

HeatherC1212
04-24-2010, 02:40 PM
HOW does Veneble hit anything??! He hits a HR to deep right field and now it's 5-0 Padres. :thumbdown

HeatherC1212
04-24-2010, 02:41 PM
Cueto needs to settle down. He got away from what he was doing in the first few innings (which I was just typing as Chris Welsh started saying something similar, LOL).

HeatherC1212
04-24-2010, 02:42 PM
Blanks flies out to Stubbs for the second out and somehow he thought that was the last out and threw the ball into the stands. STOP BEING STUPID TODAY.

Last guy grounds out to Cueto and NOW the inning is over.

Stubbs throws out #2 into the stands. These guys are just not ready to play baseball today.

Maybe there is something to spring training in Arizona.

There's some serious anatomic improbabilities taking place today.

And I'm not talking about Venable's batting stance!

This entire pitching staff has been absolutely horrible all season. Not passable, horrible. I'm not really sure what to do, but something has to be done. Its not like you can just sit them like a position player.

HeatherC1212
04-24-2010, 02:45 PM
I'm going to the game tomorrow and if they play like this in that game, I'm going to be LIVID. Someone better give them an earful in that dugout. :thumbdown

HeatherC1212
04-24-2010, 02:47 PM
Ramon gets a base hit to left field. FINALLY, something good happens offensively for the Reds. DON'T BE STUPID ON THE BASEPATHS.

Glad they're getting Cueto out early enough to keep his pitch count lower this early in the season. He didn't pitch that horribly today but the long ball has totally killed him.

HeatherC1212
04-24-2010, 02:49 PM
Ramon is out at second on the force out but Dickerson is safe at first (he pinch hit for Cueto).

Stubbs up now with one out.

HeatherC1212
04-24-2010, 02:49 PM
Stubbs does almost the same thing as Dickerson by beating the throw to first and it's only a force out at second again. Two outs.

HeatherC1212
04-24-2010, 02:50 PM
Janish pops out to Gonzalez for the last out. I think Herrera is coming in to pitch now.

HeatherC1212

Salazar is batting for Leblanc.

I'm starting to wonder why I love the Reds, or whether or not I really do. What have they ever done to deserve my love?

HeatherC1212

Sorry, I had to go upstairs and I missed how it happened but there are all ready two outs for the Padres in this inning. Herrera still pitching.

HeatherC1212
04-24-2010, 03:15 PM
Headley grounds out to Rolen and that's the last out.

I seriously wonder every day how some folks on this board can call themselves a Reds fan for how negative they ALWAYS are about the team. I know the team has their faults but geesh, IMO you can always find some good things to talk about even during the hard times (i.e. Mike Leake, the offense finding their footing this series aside, etc.).

HeatherC1212
04-24-2010, 03:15 PM
Gomes pops out to start the bottom of the 8th inning.

HeatherC1212
04-24-2010, 03:17 PM
Bruce flies out to LF for the second out.

Dang, what an advantage a pitching staff has when their head coach is a former pitching coach. Bud Black is a great coach and when he was with the Angels, they always had awesome pitching. I can't imagine he's not part of the reason that their pitching is so good this year.

HeatherC1212
04-24-2010, 03:19 PM
Ramon strikes out for the third out. I should get a medal for covering the PBP for this game today, LOL ;) :p:

Would be good for someone to teach Stubbs how to cut down his swings with two strikes on him.

If he can become disciplined to just put the ball in play.....he's got a lot of hits waiting for him courtesy of his wheels.

HeatherC1212
04-24-2010, 03:33 PM
Stubbs strikes out for the first out. Sorry, I got distracted by TWIB which just started on FOX. I was hoping our game would be over by this point so now I have to divide my time. :p:

HeatherC1212
04-24-2010, 03:35 PM
Janish flies out to RF and now it's up to Joey.

HeatherC1212
04-24-2010, 03:36 PM
Joey grounds out to second and that's the game. I'm out of here now so have fun dissecting this clunker of a game. Where's my medal for covering most of this game today?! :p:
