Unfortunately today I was somewhere where I was forced to listen to Colin Cowherd today. He was going on about how sorry he was for LT, he's got problems in his life. Not saying he was sorry he got caught or anything, but just feels bad in general for the way his life is going. No mention of the 16 YO girl who was beat up before she was brought to LT's hotel room. Colin Cowherd is an idiot and I can't stand him. I've never listened to his show before and never will again.
When he wasn't lamenting the LT's situation he spent the rest of his show ripping the NFL for being racist because Tim Tebow was drafted in the first round. If I ever see the guy that was listening to his show outside of a work situation I'd consider following him home and peeing in his corn flakes.

Does this really surprise anybody? For years it was known that LT was a pretty poor human being. I didn't expect something as bad and graphic as this to happen but I am not shocked that he will be spending the rest of his life in jail.

Can't stand "The Herd" one of the worst shows on radio. Colin actually believes some of the things that he is saying because he feels he is the smartest guy in the room. When he first came to ESPN he wasn't that bad but now he is unbearable.
As far as LT goes I can't see any way he gets out of this situation. He is looking at some serious jail time if the evidence holds up.

Actually, the maximum time for these crimes is 5 years. 4 for the rape and 1 for solicitation.

Agreed 100% on "The Herd", terrible show.
And LT, lock him in his garbage can and bury the junkie.

Nevermind. I just looked it up. Third-degree rape, in the state of New York, is up to four years in prison. That doesn't seem commensurate.

It certainly doesn't.

I listen to Cowherd quite a lot. He's pompous but I'm surprised he wasn't skewering Taylor. I didn't hear it today.
I didn't like him when I first heard him but he's grown on me.

Not to go off on a Cowherd tangent/rant, but I think my problem with ol'd Col is his lack of consistency. He admits he wants to stir up the listeners and as a result he'll say whatever is the opposite of what he believes the pulse of the fan is at the moment.
Most people heard this story on LT and said....what a disgusting loser, pathetic, scumbag...whatever. Colin heard this reaction and took the opposite stance. If he were on a messageboard he'd be banned for trolling. Seriously, thats what he gets paid to do, troll on the radio.
His lack of consistency however bothers me more, i wish I could remember a good example, but typically if you listen for a week a month whatever, you'll hear him have differing opinions on the same topic.

... troll on the radio.
That's him in a nutshell.
Back to the Lawrence Taylor thing....Andy from "The Office" dated a girl from High School. Nothing happened there. Since it was Andy, probably "nothing" did happen (except knock over mailboxes with her friends).
One more.....Dan Patrick is the most boring person I've ever heard on the radio.

Anyone surprised?
My question, when does this kind of stuff stick to the league and really start damage the fan bases faith in the NFL?

I am assuming you mean Lawerence Taylor.... and in that case, why would a retired player for 15 years problems stick to the NFL and cause problems with the fan base?

It bothers me as a diehard NBA fan that my league is attacked for the transgressions of its players and the NFL itself never suffers from the conduct of its players (which have been far more egrigious). How much is it going to take for fans to stop watching? OJ, LT, Vick, Little, Carruth, etc...

Basketball is the one sport where the fans are up close and personal, basketball games dont have the added protection of a wall, fence, helmet, etc. This works both ways the most egrigous err was the Brawl at the Palace where with the 24 hour a day noise (I refuse to call it news) cycle every network and their brother had clips of the actual event, football hasnt. When it happens off the field there isnt the video cameras everywhere so it doesnt affect as many personally and you cant get the same type of coverage.
