So far the reds are 3-3 in the month of May. 22 games remain. This by far is the make or break month for the Reds. This is why. The only team with a winning record that the Reds play the rest of the month is St. Louis. They have 7 games against the 14-16 Pirates coming up. 4 of which will be home games. They have 3 games against the 10-18 Indians at Cleveland. 2 games against 13-17 Atlanta in Atlanta. Two against the Brew Crew (14-16) at home and 3 against the lowly Astros (9-21) at home. With 22 games remaining in the month the reds need to go ATLEAST 14-8. This gives them a great edge going into a tough month of June where the scheduled against winning teams.

BOTTOM LINE: If the reds have a losing record for the rest of the month you might as well write off the rest of the season as a playoff contender because it only gets ALOT tougher from here. The reds need to put together 4-2 weeks the rest of the month. I think it is possible for this. The pitching is coming around and the bats are waking up. If the Reds are going to be contenders they must beat the struggling teams. You have to go into series against Philly or St. Louis where losing 2 out of 3 won't destroy your chances.

The schedule for both May and June looks pretty soft at the moment compared to the rest of the season. They need to make a run in these two months for sure, putting themselves in a good position before they go on the 11-game road trip in Chicago, New York, and Philadelphia right before the break. From there on out the schedule isn't nearly as forgiving.

Yeah i would agree with whats said here.

We have out ourselves in a position to contend. Now only if we can spank on some of these teams like were supposed to for once. And maybe we have something to look forward to for the season:)
